Hurst Castle was the perfect location to defend the western approach to the 
Hurst Castle Spit, Hampshire 
the New Forest I visited Hurst Castle, a fascinating fort set out a mile 
Hurst Castle and Hurst Point Lighthouse on the end of the spit.
At the end of the Spit there is Hurst Castle, built for Henry VIII but
